New York, 19 September 2023 (TDI): Jalil Jilani, Foreign Minister of Pakistan has been actively engaged with international counterparts and other officials on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session on September 18, underscoring the commitment to diplomacy and collaboration on the global stage.
These discussions have spanned a wide spectrum of topics, fostering bilateral relations, and addressing pressing global challenges.
Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani met with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen during the UNGA session. Both leaders shared a vision of enhancing cooperation in critical areas such as climate change, trade, and science and technology (S&T).
They also addressed the growing concern of rising Islamophobia and discussed recent regional and global developments.
In a significant encounter, Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They reaffirmed their commitment to the strong and fraternal ties between their countries.

Furthermore, they agreed to further strengthen cooperation across multiple domains. Notably, they discussed various investment projects of the UAE in Pakistan, emphasizing the economic dimension of their bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani also held discussions with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anne Huitfeldt. Both leaders appreciated the remarkable 75-year friendship between their nations and resolved to deepen bilateral cooperation across diverse fields.
The importance of multilateralism was underscored as a means to effectively address regional and global challenges, highlighting the need for collective action.
Another productive meeting occurred when Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani met with the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, Hanke Bruins Slot.
Both ministers agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as energy, agriculture, water management, and IT sectors.
Additionally, Foreign Minister Jalil Jilani held discussions with United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) High Representative, Miguel Moratinos, during the UNGA session.
Their focus was on combating global Islamophobia and fostering interfaith harmony, reflecting the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding among different cultures and religions.
