Beijing, 7 June 2024 (TDI): Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar addressed the 4th Pak-China Friendship and Business Event. It was held in Beijing on 06 June 2024.
Accompanying Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Dar is on a high-level official visit to China from 4-8 June 2024.
This China visit is considered as the curtain raiser. The visit will enhance the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and bolster the trust among the two strategic partners.
The visit will have three segments. Besides Beijing, the Pakistani delegation will also visit the cities of Xi’an and Shenzhen.
At the outset of his address at the 4th Pakistan-China Friendship and Business Event, Foreign Minister Dar maintained that today’s event embodies the essence of Pak-China friendship and mutual respect.
He emphasized that this event has played a pivotal role in bringing together the leaders, policymakers, business executives as well as entrepreneurs from the two countries.
Dar appreciated the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), China-Pakistan Friendship Association (CPFA), China International Cultural Communication Centre (CICCC), and all other supporting units including JDB group and Anhua Yuntiage Tea Co., Ltd.
While mentioning his Shenzhen visit a day earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar cheered the conference in Shenzhen which focused on tangible, targeted, substantive, and result-oriented economic cooperation that will attract and facilitate Chinese investment in 13 export-oriented sectors inside Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that the two sides will undertake discussions to further strengthen the All-Weather Strategic and Cooperative Partnership.
Moreover, the event will upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC); advance trade and investment; enhance cooperation in security and defense, energy, space, science & technology, and education; and promote cultural cooperation and people-to-people contacts, thus setting the future trajectory of Pakistan-China friendship.

In addition to that, the visit is also a manifestation of the iron-clad Pakistan-China friendship. The bond is characterized by frequent high-level exchanges and dialogue.
During his today’s remarks, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar advanced Pakistan’s support to the global initiative of China namely Global Development Initiative (GDI), Global Civilization Initiative (GCI), and Global Security Initiative (GSI).
He further conveyed that Pakistan-China relations have entered into a new journey characterized by win-win partnership and cooperation.
