Karachi, 11 August 2024 (TDI): The second International Food and Agriculture Exhibition (FoodAg-2024) concluded on Sunday having socialized international buyers for deals of over $1.2 billion.
In an official statement, it was revealed that more than 800 buyers from 75 countries attended the event in which 330 exporters participated showcasing approximately 500 products.
A professional B2B networking platform was also engaged to ensure interaction between foreign buyers and exhibitors.
The three-day mega-trade show led to the signing of over 36 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in a range of sectors namely rice, processed food and beverages seafood Kinnow potato pulses chickpeas mangoes confectionery meat products dairy products tea coffee spices cereals oilseeds among others. These deals are made in the countries of China, Malaysia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Gambia and France.
Notably, Pakistani, and Chinese companies sign $35m seafood export agreements.

Several international investors, including HVA (dairy), Bolynta (potato seed from the Netherlands), Huiyuan Beverages & Food Group (China), and METAS (Qatar), expressed interest in investing in the sector.
Meanwhile, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) also arranged factory visits for foreign delegates to promote the country’s exports.
The initiative attracted a Malaysian delegation’s visit to Fish Harbour Karachi and the Pakistan Seafood Manufacturers Association (PSMA) Sindh Office.
Further, delegates from Egypt, Tajikistan, and Malaysia toured Tata Foods, with Malaysian organizations like BERNAS, DG MAQIS, and the Department of Veterinary Sciences finalizing export orders.
Likewise, Japanese and Malaysian delegates visited Rehmate Shereen, while Jordanian and Egyptian delegates toured Organic Meat facilities. Additionally, representatives from Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay visited KK Rice Mill.
