Kabul, 09 August 2021 (TDI): Mohammad Hanif Atmar, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, had a meeting with the Iranian Special Representative to Afghanistan, Mohammad Ibrahim Taherian Fard. During the meeting they discussed the close and strengthening of bilateral relations of Afghanistan and Iran. The security issues and developments were also the main topic of discussion.
The Foreign Minister of Afghanistan also emphasized the meeting held in UNSC regarding the ending of violence and as well as peaceful resolution of Afghanistan. It was proposed by Afghanistan to hold special meetings in ceasing the violence. Atmar stressed his desire for Iran to look forward to their proposal as it would play an important role in stopping the attacks on cities as well as political settlement.
Mohammad Ibrahim has expressed his concerns about the security situation in Afghanistan. He also reaffirmed the extensive collaboration of Afghanistan and Iran.
