As the world finds itself engulfed in protracted conflicts, more than 150 leaders will gather to participate in the 80th UNGA session, where they will discuss urgent and pressing issues.
The Palestine conflict, which has challenged the resolve of the United Nations as an organization for the peaceful settlement of conflicts, came to spotlight at the UN when an international conference “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution” was co-chaired by Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad Bin Salman, and French President, Emmanuel Macron.
Again, during the high level week now, the same conference will resumed on Monday, September 22. “The Conference will reaffirm international commitments to the two-State solution and seek to mobilize support for its implementation,” the UN said.
Last week, the United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of allowing the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, to address the UNGA through a video link, after the United States had denied him a visa to participate in the session.
