New York, 23 September 2021 (TDI): On the sidelines of the 76th UN General Assembly, Austria Foreign Minister Schallenberg held diplomatic talks with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on 22 September in New York.
Both sides discussed the bilateral relations also in the context of the EU.
The two countries have friendly bilateral relations and trade relations. Both countries have the same typology. Moreover, Pakistan has an embassy in Vienna. Austria has an embassy in Islamabad and two representatives in Lahore and Karachi.

Foreign Minister of Austria Schallenberd thanked Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for Pakistan’s support. Pakistan evacuated many countries’ citizens from Afghanistan including, Austrian citizens.
Both sides discussed the situation and the challenges in Afghanistan. Both countries are looking forward to furthering relations with each other.
