Islamabad, 17 February 2022 (TDI): Bill Gates the Co-founder of Microsoft and Co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation arrived in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Bill Gates landed at the Pakistan Air Force Base, Nur Khan earlier today. There he was welcomed and received by government officials. He came to the country for the first time and for a day-long visit.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan especially invited the dignitary to visit Pakistan. Bill Gates warmly accepted the invitation.
Effective Polio eradication in Pakistan
Upon his arrival, the dignitary held several meetings. He called on the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. During the meeting, he lauded the nation’s sincere efforts to combat Polio.

Bill Gates expressed his appreciation for health workers in particular for the ones who worked for Polio eradication. Parents, who immensely cooperated in getting their children vaccinated against Polio were also appreciated by Bill Gates.
Microsoft Co-founder additionally visited the anti-Polio program. There Programme’s Chief Doctor Shehzad Baig gave the briefing. Pakistan’s Covid-19 prevention measures were also shared with the dignitary.
Hilal-e-Pakistan awarded to Bill Gates
Co-chair Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was also awarded the Hilal-e-Pakistan toady. The President of Pakistan Doctor Arif Alvi conferred the award on the dignitary in recognition of his services to Pakistan. Particularly because of his services in Polio eradication. The investiture ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadar.

As the day came to an end and so the visit, the Prime Minister of Pakistan took to his official Twitter handle to thank Bill Gates.

Prime Minister Imran Khan added that he is thankful to Bill Gates that he came to Pakistan at his invitation. Furthermore, Imran Khan stated that because of his services to humanity Microsoft’s cofounder is globally appreciated. Finally, on behalf of entire Pakistan, the Prime Minister specifically paid gratitude to him for his philanthropic initiatives.
