Islamabad (TDI): Islamabad International Airport has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of its first-ever cargo flights from China.
The first cargo flight from Urumqi, operated by SF Airlines, arrived at Islamabad Airport carrying more than twenty-five tons of goods.
The Chinese delegation was warmly received by Chief Operating Officer and Airport Manager Aftab Gilani.
In a statement, Aftab Gilani said that two cargo flights will operate weekly, with the possibility of further expansion in the future while stressing that this initiative will strengthen trade ties between Pakistan and China.

He added that the commencement of cargo flights would not only enhance trade but also lead to an increase in cargo throughput charges, resulting in a considerable rise in revenue for the Pakistan Airport Authority.

This development is likely to enhance connectivity between the two countries, further facilitating the movement of goods and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
