Beijing, 17 August 2022 (TDI): A new China-Europe freight train route linking Beijing, Shijiazhuang in north China’s Heibei, and Europe was launched Tuesday.

It is a train loaded with over 240 tons of cargo departed from Beijing and will arrive in Nizhnekamsk in Russia after a transit at the Shijiazhuang International Land Port.

Rail freight transportation is becoming a more appealing choice for shipping products between China and Europe than air or sea freight. Rail freight transit is more efficient than air and sea freight in terms of cost and speed.

Liu Jinpeng, General Manager of the Shijiazhuang International Land Port, described the project as an achievement. It makes it easier for more suitable business logistics for rail travel between Beijing and the province of Hebei.

Moreover, he added that the freight train is helpful to the coordinated growth of economic transportation between Hebei and Beijing.
