Islamabad: 26 August 2024 (TDI): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Monday received Antti Partanen, a representative from FinnFund to discuss potential investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The Finance Minister highlighted the considerable improvements in Pakistan’s macroeconomic indicators and underlined the government’s structural reform agenda, including the digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue, energy sector reforms, State-Owned Enterprises reforms and privatization measures.
He emphasized the government’s focus on transforming Pakistan into an export-led economy and attracting Foreign Direct Investment to enhance the country’s export base.
Partanen presented an overview of FinnFund’s profile and investment initiatives in Pakistan, stressing their interest in digital infrastructure, agriculture, renewable energy, and forestry.
He noted that the growing young population of Pakistan makes it an attractive destination for financing and expressed FinnFund’s willingness to explore investments in different sectors of the country.
The minister reiterated the government’s commitment for making Pakistan’s investment climate favourable and conducive for foreign investors.
