“Finance for Development” policy takes shape in UNDP meeting

Islamabad, July 15, 2021 (TDI) —  UNDP Resident Representative Knut Ostby held a high-level policy meeting with Federal Minister of Economic Affairs Division Omar Omar Ayub Khan, Government of Pakistan officials, Foreign Office officials, and the Board of Investment Pakistan to set a policy framework for “Finance for Development” in Pakistan.
The dialogue was sanctioned by UNDP in Pakistan and UN partners such as USAID, Canada in Pakistan, GIZ Germany, European Union delegation to Pakistan, Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan, Ambassador of Denmark in Pakistan, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Italy in Pakistan and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in Pakistan were heartily thanked for their contributions to innovative finance.
The Agenda 2030 and Sustainable Development was discussed in the light of the “Finance for Development” agenda by the UNDP Senior Advisor Sharif Haroon. UNDP Deputy Representative Alion Niculita and Program Specialist Ammara Durani also voiced their support for the current trajectory of cooperative development in Pakistan.
