Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, hosted a farewell meeting with the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mitsuhira Wada, at the Finance Division.
The meeting marked the conclusion of Wada’s three-year tenure in Pakistan, during which he oversaw a steady enhancement in the longstanding diplomatic and economic relations between Japan and Pakistan.
Discussions between the two dignitaries centered around mutual interests, with both sides reaffirming shared values and perspectives on regional and global matters.
Ambassador Wada highlighted the robust growth in bilateral ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1952, underscoring the increase in trade and commerce, cultural and sports exchanges, and youth and educational programs that have brought the two countries closer.
He also expressed Japan’s firm commitment to supporting Pakistan’s priorities in sectors such as health, education, environment, water management, and governance.

Minister Aurangzeb acknowledged Japan’s invaluable developmental assistance and economic support, which he described as instrumental in aiding Pakistan’s efforts to tackle its economic challenges.
He stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties through expanded collaboration in trade, culture, education, and direct interactions between the people of both nations.
Sharing insights into Pakistan’s economic progress, Minister Aurangzeb apprised Ambassador Wada of improvements in various macroeconomic indicators, crediting the government’s reform agenda for recent economic stability.
