Stockholm, 15 May 2023 (TDI): The EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum concluded on 13th May 2023.
High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borell, in his closing remarks, appreciated host Tobias Billström, Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, for putting up an event.
He emphasized three points in his speech. First, characterized by inclusiveness and joint commitment, the forum is developing uniquely.
Second, the matters that the Forum has discussed require action. Third, the European Union is clear in its pledge to be more present and to deliver more.

He also stressed the need to act together. The EU Indo-Pacific forum had many concrete proposals.
He further said that the broad consensus to step up our cooperation in the field of maritime security, cyber, foreign manipulation of information and counterterrorism, among other topics, are noted and expressed intentions to launch EU partnership with the countries in the Indo-Pacific on security issues.
At the forum, green economies and societies were also discussed, as they are imperative to fight the climate crisis and preserve the planet’s ecosystems.
The prosperity issues were addressed in the forums. He said that all members seek diversification and supply chain resilience in both directions.
To deliver more concrete results, the focus would be on the progress of projects, including the 20 Global Gateway projects in the Indo-Pacific in 2023.
The EU Forum will be participating in four coming summits in Asia Region and also in ASEAN Region Forum.
The Ministerial Forum gathered over 50 partners and organisations. The 50 different approaches to Indo-Pacific issues were presented.
