Paris (TDI): The European Union and France are stepping up emergency preparedness efforts amid rising security concerns. The EU has released a White Paper on European Defense, outlining long-term plans to strengthen military capabilities while identifying Russia as a strategic threat.
France, in a parallel move, is preparing to distribute a citizen survival manual to all households. The guide will offer instructions on handling emergencies such as armed conflict, industrial accidents, and natural disasters.
According to reports, the 20-page booklet is modelled after a Swedish initiative and will be available by summer. It will provide practical advice on self-sufficiency, emergency contacts, and essential supplies for crisis situations. French authorities emphasize that the manual is meant to prepare citizens for all contingencies, not just military threats.
The survival guide will include three sections: personal protection measures, emergency response procedures, and civil defense participation. Citizens will be encouraged to stock essential supplies, stay informed, and consider joining reserve forces.
French President Emmanuel Macron has warned of growing security risks in Europe, citing Russia’s military buildup. The government’s preparedness campaign follows similar initiatives across Europe, as countries reinforce defense strategies and public readiness for potential crises.
