Peshawar: June 24, 2021-(TDI): European Union Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara visited Peshawar. During her visit, she met religious scholars and officials of the local government. He also visited Sarhad and Women Chambers of Commerce, Edwardes College, and the Torkham border.
Ambassador Androulla Kaminara met Moderator Church of Pakistan Bishop Humphrey Peters and Imam of Muhabbat Khan Mosque Maulana Tayyab Qureshi in Peshawar. During the interfaith dialogue, they discussed the challenges and opportunities for the harmony of religious communities in Pakistan.
Later she paid a visit to Sarhad and Women’s Chambers of Commerce. The members of SCCI and traders were present in the meeting. President of SCCI Sherbaz Bilour mentioned the extension of GSP plus status by the European commission till 2022. Ambassador Androulla Kaminara said that after the GSP plus, Pakistan exports increased up to 33% in the European market.
In the end, she visited the Torkham border. The officials provide her with the information for border management between Pakistan and Afghanistan, trade, migration, and humanitarian assistance. During her visit, he also saw glimpses of the beautiful Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Edwardes College, Sethi house, and Khyber Rifles officers mess provide an insight into province history.
