Addis Ababa, 16 September 2021(TDI): Peace Minister of Ethiopia, Muferihat Kamil held a talk with U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia, Geeta Pasi, and Mission Director USAID Ethiopia, Sean Jones on the strengthening and expansion of humanitarian aid.
The main goal of the discussion was to discuss and develop ways to ensure that persons affected by the TPLF terror group’s destructive actions receive prompt relief, as well as to define strategies for rehabilitating internally displaced people who have fled TPLF-caused violence.
Minister Muferihat Kamil has stated that the government’s efforts to guarantee that displaced persons have access to temporary shelters and other essential assistance will be stepped up. Ethiopia Minister also emphasized the critical role that humanitarian partners will play in this regard.
Ambassador Geeta Pasi said that she is actively monitoring the Ethiopian government’s efforts and has conveyed assurances that her administration and the people of the United States would continue to strengthen connections with Ethiopia. U.S. Ambassador emphasized that the United States will continue to support humanitarian efforts.
Sean Jones, for his part, stated that USAID is contributing to the efforts to give aid relief in various portions of the Afar and Amhara regions.
