President Erdoğan’s Victory Day Message Highlights National Pride

Islamabad (TDI): The Embassy of Türkiye in Pakistan commemorated the 103rd anniversary of Türkiye’s August 30 Victory Day with a ceremonial reading of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s  message, delivered by Berk Ece, Turkiye’s Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad.

President Erdoğan’s message paid tribute to the sacrifices and valor of the Turkish nation and its army during the Great Offensive, culminating in the decisive Battle of the Commander-in-Chief on August 30, 1922.

Describing the victory as “one of our brightest epics,” the President emphasized that the Great Victory not only ended foreign occupation but also embodied the spirit of independence, dignity, and unity of the Turkish people.

“This victory was the aspiration for honor, freedom and of course dignity,” President Erdoğan said, adding that the success echoed globally as a testament to Türkiye’s refusal to bow to imperialist forces.

He also honored the memory of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Türkiye and commander of the offensive, highlighting his vision of national unity and the strength of the “internal front” built by the collective will of the people.

Looking forward, President Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye’s determination to eliminate the scourge of terrorism and to build a peaceful, prosperous future under the vision of the “Century of Türkiye.” He affirmed that the strength of the nation lies in the unity of its 86 million citizens.

In his message, Erdoğan also addressed contemporary regional crises, particularly in Gaza and Palestine. He condemned ongoing atrocities and attempts to redraw borders through violence, stressing that those responsible will be held accountable.

“Türkiye will stand firm with the oppressed against the oppressor today and tomorrow,” he declared, urging the international community to unite on a “front for humanity” to restore peace and justice.

Concluding his message, the President paid homage to Türkiye’s martyrs and veterans, and extended heartfelt greetings on Victory Day to Turkish citizens at home and abroad, including the Turkish Cypriot community.

The event in Islamabad was attended by diplomats, dignitaries, and members of the Turkish and Pakistani communities, marking a solemn yet proud occasion that underscored Türkiye’s enduring legacy and its growing role on the global stage.
