ISLAMABAD, (TDI): The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recommended the imposition of the section 144 to the district administration of Islamabad in the federal capital to address the worsening smog.
With the implementation of Section 144, there will be a complete ban on the burning of crop residue and solid waste within the Islamabad territory.
The EPA highlighted that the risk of smog is particularly high during the dry winter months, with East and Central Punjab being the most affected regions. They anticipate a decline in air quality in the Potohar region and the plains of Punjab over the coming months.
