Envoys of Vietnam, Ireland, Maldives Present Credentials to President

Islamabad, 13 August 2024 (TDI): The envoys of Vietnam, Ireland, and Maldives presented their diplomatic credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday.

The President received credentials from the Ambassador-designate of Vietnam, Pham Anh Tuan, Ambassador-designate of Ireland, Ms Mary O’Neil, and High Commissioner-designate of Maldives, Uz Mohamed Thoha, who also held separate meetings with him.

Welcoming the envoys, the president congratulated them on their appointment and expressed the hope that they would play their role in further improving mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan.

He said that Islamabad wanted to further solidify trade, economic and investment ties with friendly nations in all areas of mutual interest.

President Zardari said that Pakistan was focused on boosting bilateral trade volume with all friendly nations.

He added that Pakistan offered great investment opportunities in various fields and businesses should invest in agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing, information technology, energy, mining, and green technologies sectors.

Earlier, the diplomats were presented guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
