Malé (TDI): High Commissioner of Pakistan to Maldives, Vice Admiral (Retd) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, met Kong Xianhua, the Ambassador of China to Maldives, on Thursday.
During the meeting, both diplomats acknowledged and celebrated the strong relations between China and Pakitan, while also highlighting a shared commitment to reinforcing regional cooperation, infrastructure development, and trade.
About the meeting, Pakistan’s High Commissioner wrote on social media app X, “Both the Envoys acknowledged and cherished the deep-rooted brotherly relations and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China”

The Embassy of China in Maldives also posted from its official account on X, “China and Pakistan are ironclad brothers. Looking forward to strengthening our traditional friendship and deepening cooperation in various fields”.
This meeting between the envoys in a third country reflects on how China and Pakistan maintain close diplomatic coordination and how their foreign diplomatic missions interact.

Pakistan and China formally and officially established diplomatic ties in May 1951. Over these years, their relations have evolved into a strong strategic partnership which is based on mutual respect and shared regional interests.
China remains Pakistan’s biggest trade and investment partner and both nations continue to engage closely with each other.
Vice Admiral (Retd) Faisal Rasul Lodhi is a former three star Admiral of Pakistan Navy. Appointed this year, Lodhi is currently serving as High Commissioner of Pakistan to Maldives. He leads Pakistan’s mission in Maldives, strengthening Pakistan’s diplomatic ties with the Island country in South Asian region.
