ISLAMABAD, (TDI): Swiss Ambassador to Pakistan George Steiner said that enhancing bilateral trade relations and economic cooperation with Islamabad is his top priority.
At the launch ceremony for Swiss homeopathic medicines in Pakistan, he stated that these initiatives would ultimately benefit both nations.
Ambassador Steiner emphasized the significant opportunities for collaboration in sectors such as tourism, medicine, and agriculture.
He praised existing partnerships between Pakistani and Swiss companies and expressed hope for increased Swiss investment, leveraging Pakistan’s 25 million population and diverse industries.
Swiss Investment in Pakistan
He noted that Switzerland is the third-largest direct investor in Pakistan and encouraged further expansion of trade and investment ties.
Ahsan Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed Swiss investment, describing Pakistan as an attractive destination for global investors.

He urged Swiss companies to explore the country’s potential and consider establishing manufacturing plants to boost local industry and create jobs.
