Pakistan never lost a T20I match at Karachi before that match. The England cricket team visited Pakistan for the first time in 17 years for a long series of 7 T20I matches.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first T20 International. Pakistani openers got a good start but the team could not capitalize on that.

Pakistan played with Babar Azam (C), Shan Masood, Muhammad Rizwan (WK), Khuhsdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haider Ali, Muhammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Usman Qadir, Haris Rauf, and Shahnawaz Dahani.
England team included Moeen Ali (C), Alex Hales, Phil Salt (WK), Dawid Malan, Ben Duckett, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, David Willey, Luke Wood, Adil Rashid, and Richard Gleeson.
Match Summary
The Pakistani openers played brilliantly and made a partnership of 85 runs. After that, there was no notable partnership in the whole Pakistan innings.
From Pakistan, Muhammad Rizwan scored 68 runs off just 46 balls and Babar Azam scored 31 off 24 balls. Luke Wood took 3 wickets for 24 runs for England in his 4 overs. Pakistan made 158 in their allotted 20 overs.
In response, England played quite well and did not give Pakistani bowlers to settle on the pitch. Alex Hales scored 50 off 40 balls and Harry Brook scored quick-fire 42 off just 25 balls which made the chase quite easy for England.
From Pakistan, Usman Qadir took 2 wickets, and Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf picked up one wicket each. England reached the target in the last over.
Luke Wood was considered Man of the Match for his brilliant figures of 3 for 24. The second T20 will be played on 22 September at the National Stadium Karachi.
