Embassy of Ukraine celebrates 30th Anniversary of Independence

Islamabad, 2 September 2021, (TDI): A solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence was held at the Pakistan National Cultural Council (PNCA).
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Markian Chuchuk made a welcoming speech. He stressed that independence was not a gift of fate for Ukraine, it has suffered by many generations of Ukrainians.
On behalf of the PNCR, the guests were greeted by the Administrative Director of the PNCA A. Jamali, who stressed the friendly nature of bilateral relations and the similarity of Ukrainian and Pakistani culture.
Ambassador Markian Chuchuk and Ayub Jamali exchanged gifts. Then the participants of the event were invited to show a documentary about Ukraine.
Also, there was a cultural program, with the performance of famous Ukrainian songs (“Snowstorm”, “Oh, in the cherry orchard”, “You deceived me!”, “Chervona Ruta”) and a demonstration of national clothes. An exhibition of Ukrainian decorative arts was also organized.
The Pakistani side also took part in the celebration: a performance by folk musicians from Sindh province was presented.
The celebration was attended by Embassy staff, diplomats, members of Ukrainian families living in Pakistan, representatives of political, educational, cultural, and business institutions of the IRP.
The event was conducted in compliance with all restrictive procedures, in accordance with the orders of the Government of Pakistan on the epidemiological situation in the country.
