Cairo, 24 November 2021 (TDI): Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat met with a delegation of Sixteen Swiss Entrepreneurs and CEOs in Cairo, Egypt. The purpose of the meeting is to enhance and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Egyptian Minister meeting with Swiss Delegation
Egyptian Minister welcomed the Swiss delegation of investors and businessmen in Egypt. During the meeting, Minister highlighted the prospect of cooperation for sustainable and comprehensive development.

The Swiss delegation asked about the economic position of Egypt. They also talked about Egypt’s infrastructure development. Likewise, the delegation also inquired about Egyptian preparations to host UN Climate Change Conference COP27. It is reminded that Egypt will host the next COP 27 in 2022 on behalf of Africa.
Furthermore, the Egyptian Minister told about the economic and structural reforms that Egypt started in 2016. Reforms enabled Egypt to become an energy-exporting country.
He also gave a view of the transportation project to connect Cairo with new cities and industrial areas. It will enhance the mobility of citizens and increase economic activities in the country.
Egyptian Minister also highlighted the efforts of Egypt to become a regional energy center and digitize education. Further, he talked about the expansion of social protection programs. He also shared the state’s efforts to increase tourism revenue. In Egypt, tourism is a vital source of foreign currency.
Swiss Egypt Cooperation Progam
Earlier, Egypt Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat and the Swiss delegation under Director-General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Ambassador Patricia Danzi launched the Swiss Egypt Operation Program for 2021-2024.
The program focuses on the green economy and adaption to climate change. Through Program, Switzerland will provide innovative contributions in different sectors of Egypt, including green financing, supporting macro reforms in Egypt’s economy, improve Egypt’s business environment and clean energy.
