Cairo, 8 December 2021 (TDI): Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania Mashat met with the French Ambassador to Egypt Marc Barely. Minister Rania Al-Mashat congratulated the French Ambassador on his new assignment in Egypt. Likewise, both officials discussed bilateral relations between Egypt and France. The presence of Ambassador Marc Barely in Egypt will further enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and France.

Earlier, French Ambassador was working in Pakistan and completed his tenure as a French Ambassador.

Remarks of Minister of International Cooperation in the meeting 

During the meeting with the French Ambassador, Minister Rania Al-Mashat stressed cordial economic ties between France and Egypt. Besides, she also talked about Egypt’s Partnership with France on financing development projects. France supports and finances development projects according to the Egyptian Reform Plan.

Likewise, Minister Al Mashat talked about the agreement with the French Development Agency. According to the agreement, the French Development Agency provides 50 Million euros for the up-gradation and development of subway stations and Railway lines in Egypt, mainly Cairo.

Further, talking about Conference of Parties (COP) 27, Minister Rania elaborated that Egypt is adopting eco-friendly projects and moving towards green recovery agenda.

Remarks of French Ambassador in the Meeting

On the other hand, French Ambassador congratulated Egypt on hosting the United Nations Climate Conference for 2022. It will pose Egypt as a leader of the green transformation in the continent.

He also praised the Ministry of International Cooperation’s efforts and work to improve relations between the two countries. Likewise, the French Ambassador talked about President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s and Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli’s visit to France.

As well, the French Ambassador talked about the agreements to finance priority projects in Egypt. The projects set the standards of innovative and environment-friendly technology.
