Islamabad (TDI): Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Women University, has been honoured with the prestigious Global Ambassador Award 2024 in recognition of her exceptional services in the field of education.
The 6th Global Ambassador Awards Ceremony was organized in Islamabad by The Diplomatic Insight Group, a global public diplomacy institution in Pakistan, with the presence of Ambassadors, diplomatic corps, Parliamentarians, government officials, business leaders, academics, media, and civil society members.
Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Women University and a tenured Professor of Psychology, is a renowned academic, researcher, and advocate for women’s empowerment and educational reform.
Her impactful career has reshaped psychology in Pakistan, earning her the Denmark Gunvald Award in 2021 for feminist research and recognition from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2024 for her contributions to women’s causes.
With over 179 publications and a notable academic footprint—an H-index of 28 and i10 index of 84—Dr. Kamal’s work addresses critical societal issues, supported by international bodies like UNDP, UNESCO, and HEC.
She has developed culturally relevant psychological tools to address pressing issues, including sexual harassment and social dominance, which are now widely used in South Asia.
Beyond academia, Dr. Kamal serves on influential committees such as the Drugs & Narcotics Committee and the Women Empowerment Consortium, advising on social policies in Pakistan.
Her memberships in the American Psychological Association and other respected organizations reflect her global standing.
Under her visionary leadership, Rawalpindi Women University has become a top-ranking institution, globally recognized for Crisis Management Strategies in The World University Ranking for Innovation 2022.
