Islamabad (TDI): Centrum Air, one of Uzbekistan’s major private airlines, has announced plans to launch flights across Pakistan. Starting in April this year, the airline will open direct flights between Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, and Pakistan’s second-largest city, Lahore.

Flights on the Tashkent–Lahore route are expected to operate twice a week. It is worth noting that in recent years the number of air connections between Uzbekistan and Pakistan has increased significantly.

In particular, the national carrier Uzbekistan Airways currently operates four weekly flights on the Tashkent–Islamabad and Tashkent–Lahore routes. To date, more than 30,000 passengers have used these air services.

According to precise figures, nearly 19,000 Pakistani citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in 2025 by taking advantage of these convenient flight options. Centrum Air was established in 2023. The airline’s fleet currently consists of 14 aircraft.

The launch of additional direct flights between Tashkent and Lahore will contribute to the further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as exchanges in tourism, science and academia, education, and cultural and humanitarian relations.
