Diplomacy Only Solution to Iran-Israel War: UAE

Abu Dhabi (TDI): As war between Israel and Iran continued on Wednesday for a sixth consecutive day, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan warned of the wider threat posed by the continuing conflict and called for an immediate ceasefire.

“Only diplomacy and political dialogue can lead us out of this dangerous spiral,” he said.

In a statement, Sheikh Abdullah expressed concern that any “reckless or miscalculated moves” might push the conflict beyond the borders of the two nations and threaten wider regional stability.

He emphasized that the United Nations and its Security Council must step up and take meaningful steps to stop the fighting and ease tensions.

The Emirati leadership also condemned the Israeli air campaign that began on Friday, which has reportedly targeted Iranian military figures, nuclear facilities, and intelligence sites.

In response, Iran has fired ballistic missiles at several Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa.

Calling for calm, Sheikh Abdullah reiterated that the UAE remains committed to regional peace, justice, and the sovereignty of states.

“Now more than ever, we need wisdom and restraint in a region that has seen too much conflict,” he said.

He concluded by stressing the importance of respecting international law and avoiding actions that could undermine global peace.

The UAE, he added, stands by its belief in dialogue and cooperation as the only sustainable path forward.
