Cairo, 17 August 2022 (TDI): The Minister of Development of Canada, Harjit Sajan visited the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania A. Al Mashat.

Both the representatives discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the states.
Agenda of the meeting
The focus of the meeting was a collaboration between both states in the agriculture sector. Both the representatives discussed the agricultural production projects.
They also talked about the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) which would be held in Egypt. The conference is expected to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt from 6 to 18 November 2022.

This program aims to foster collaboration among governments and non-Party stakeholders.
Its goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help ensure a just transition to a net-zero economy. This indirectly alleviates poverty and helps secure a sustainable future.
Egypt and Canada’s bilateral relations
While talking about the bilateral relations among both the states, the Egyptian International Cooperation Minister, Al Mashat deeply expressed appreciation for the friendly partnership.
The meeting also discussed the ongoing projects between the two sides in empowering women and catalyzing gender-smart finance.
The Egyptian International Cooperation Minister also mentioned the efforts of the Ministry of International Cooperation in coordinating all developmental sectors.
Consequently through the wide-scale participation of the private sector on various platforms, mobilizing blended financing.
On the other hand, the Canadian Minister of International Development Hargit Sagan also greatly appreciated the strong partnership between Canada and Egypt.
Furthermore, he expressed keenness to implement more programs to accelerate progress on sustainable development.
According to the Canadian Minister of International Development his country looks forward to collaborating with Egypt on such projects as it has done in the past.
