Dushanbe, 24 August 2021 (TDI): Tajikistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Farhod Salim addressed the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for South Asia and Commonwealth Lord Ahmed of Wimbledon in an online meeting.
During the conversation, both parties exchanged views on the current development in Afghanistan. Both sides expressed concerns about women and children’s rights violations under the Taliban rule in the country. Also, interlocutors discussed the issues related to regional security. Lord Ahmed of Wimbledon reiterated firm support of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Central Asian countries bordering Afghanistan. He briefed the Deputy Foreign Minister that the UK government is working closely with its allies to support the people of Afghanistan.
