Vojens, 21 August 2023 (TDI): The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to the Kingdom of Denmark met with the  Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen on August, 20.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Denmark, in a news conference at the Skrydstrup Airbase, announced the agreement of the transfer of 19 F-16 Fighter jets by Denmark to Ukraine.

Following the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Denmark, the President of Ukraine during a meeting with the media representatives announced the transfer of 19 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine as a powerful display of support by Denmark.

He also highlighted that the training of Ukrainian pilots and engineers in Denmark is already starting.

During the meeting with the media representatives, in an answer to one of the journalist’s questions, the Ukrainian President emphasized that the agreement that has been signed between both sides on the supply of F-16s will be a great stimulus for those states that previously doubted on providing air-crafts to Ukraine.

In the meeting, both parties also discussed expanding the training missions of Ukrainian pilots and engineers to Denmark. It was also pointed out that the infrastructure to be utilized in this regard is already being prepared.

The two sides also discussed the capabilities of the Ukrainian defence forces on the battlefield, while President Zelensky emphasized the significance of Denmark’s assistance in this regard.

The area of assistance includes air defence, artillery, munitions, coastal defence, Leopards, armoured personnel carriers and demining vehicles.

Furthermore, he commented that Ukraine is working to boost its capabilities not only on land but also at sea for defending the ports which are vital for global food security.

The Ukrainian President also notified the assistance of Denmark in the implementation of Kyiv’s Peace Formula.

In this regard, he mentioned that the first meeting of national security advisors and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs to discuss the implementation of the Peace Formula has taken place in Copenhagen.

While moving forward, the parties discussed the details of Denmark’s involvement in rebuilding Ukraine after the Russian attacks.

In this regard, the Ukrainian President acknowledged the support of Denmark in the restoration of the city of Mykolaiv specifically, which was constantly shelled by the occupiers.

He called this projection of support a good example for other countries that seek to help and protect normal life.

The President of Ukraine in consideration of the efforts by Denmark thanked and appreciated Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the entire government team and the Danish society for their support and solidarity with Ukraine.
