Dar, Uzbek FM Discuss Trade, Connectivity

Tashkent (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a productive meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov in Tashkent.

Both leaders focused on their commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.

During the discussion, both sides explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, regional connectivity, and economic development.

Moreover, both foreign ministers underlined the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, focusing on their shared historical and cultural heritage.

They stressed their mutual desire to expand collaboration across multiple sectors, focusing on strengthening economic growth and regional stability.

The meeting also reflected both countries’ broader vision to strengthen ties within the framework of regional cooperation mechanisms.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan and Uzbekistan have consistently engaged in high-level exchanges to promote bilateral cooperation.

Since Uzbekistan’s independence in 1991, Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize and establish formal diplomatic relations with the Central Asian Republic.

The Uzbekistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (UPTTA) has been a significant step towards enhancing regional connectivity.

Culturally, Pakistan and Uzbekistan share a common heritage, enriched by historical links to the Mughal Empire and Islamic scholarship.

Both countries remain committed to increasing a multifaceted relationship contributing to regional stability and prosperity.
