Islamabad (TDI): Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, delivered the keynote address at the inaugural Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI) Forum held from April 29-30, 2025 at Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad.
The forum was jointly organized by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).
In his address, Senator Dar emphasized Pakistan’s strong commitment to digital transformation and economic diplomacy. He underscored the government’s focused efforts to build a robust digital economy through strategic investments in cloud technologies, digital infrastructure, fintech, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce.

Highlighting the country’s young and tech-savvy population, he noted Pakistan’s immense potential as a thriving hub for digital innovation and high-quality services.
The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed global investors to explore the abundant investment opportunities within Pakistan’s dynamic technology ecosystem.
He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to create a business-friendly environment through comprehensive policy reforms and initiatives aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business.
“Pakistan is open for digital business,” said Senator Dar. “We invite international stakeholders to join us in building a digitally inclusive, future-ready economy driven by innovation and collaboration.”

Senator Dar also announced Pakistan’s readiness to assume the Presidency of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) in 2026, pledging the country’s continued support in advancing DCO’s mission of enhancing digital cooperation among member states.
He expressed gratitude to the participating delegates and partners for their valuable contributions and urged continued engagement to scale digital investment and connectivity across the region.
The DFDI Forum served as a vital platform for fostering cross-border collaboration and promoting Pakistan’s strategic vision for a digitally empowered future.
