Beijing (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, attended a high-level joint meeting of the foreign ministers from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Tuesday.
President Xi welcomed the delegation heads, stressing the importance of strengthening regional cooperation through the SCO framework.
He underscored the salience of regional cooperation under the ambit of SCO, an organization covering the Eurasian land mass and a large expanse of the world’s population.
While in Tianjin for the SCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also held a one-on-one discussion with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kulubaev Zheenbek Moldokanovic.

The two ministers acknowledged the close ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and agreed to boost cooperation in areas where both countries share common interests.
Later, DPM Dar met with Murat Nurtleu, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

Both sides expressed their intention to strengthen the partnership between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and discussed ways to enhance coordination at regional forums and international platforms.
