Dar, Kuwait’s FM Discuss Ways to Cement Bilateral Ties

New York (TDI): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, met the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Abdullah Al-Yahya, on the sidelines of International Conference on Two-State Solution at the United Nations.

DPM/FM Dar is on an elaborate visit to the United States, to take part in some important UN sessions as Pakistan presides over the Security Council for the ongoing month of July.

The two leaders discussed ways to improve Pakistan–Kuwait relations, with a focus on cooperation in trade, investment, energy, food security and defense. They also discussed close collaboration at multilateral fora, including at the UN & Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Both sides agreed to undertake high-level exchanges in future to deepen bilateral engagement.

They also expressed deep concern at continued Israeli aggression against Palestinians and the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, pressing the urgent need for a just and lasting resolution. They expressed hope that the outcomes of the UN Conference will bring the world closer to the two-state solution.
