Islamabad (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday received Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, who conveyed New Year greetings from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The ambassador also delivered a letter from the Iranian foreign minister to Dar, who warmly reciprocated the greetings and conveyed Pakistan’s best wishes to the Iranian leadership and people.

During the meeting, Ambassador Moghaddam briefed the deputy prime minister on progress achieved under various bilateral institutional mechanisms aimed at strengthening cooperation across a range of sectors.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with Iran, emphasizing the importance of expanding collaboration in key priority areas of mutual interest.

Pakistan and Iran share longstanding historical, cultural and religious ties, underpinned by regular high-level exchanges and cooperation at bilateral, regional and multilateral forums.
