Islamabad (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to raise Pakistan’s primary security concerns, including the use of Afghan territory by banned TTP and presence of US weapons during his first official visit to Kabul for talks with the Afghan leadership today.
The Foreign Office officially confirmed on Friday that Ishaq Dar will visit Afghanistan on Saturday at the invitation of his Afghan counterpart.
This marks the first visit by a Pakistani Foreign Minister to Kabul in three years and comes amid renewed efforts to ease bilateral tensions.
“At the invitation of Acting Afghan Foreign Minister, Dar will head a high-level delegation to Kabul on Saturday, said the foreign office spokesperson at the weekly media briefing.

“During the day-long trip, he will meet the Afghan Acting Prime Minister, Afghan Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and hold delegation-level meetings with Acting Foreign Minister, Shafqat Ali Khan told reporters.
He said the meetings will cover entire agenda of Pak-Afghan ties, focusing on ways and means to deepen collaboration in all areas of mutual interest, including security, trade, connectivity, and people-to-people relations.
He stated that Dar’s visit reflects Islamabad’s commitment to fostering sustained and meaningful engagement with Afghanistan.

When asked whether Pakistan would raise the issue of terrorist hideouts during the trip of Dar, the spokesperson said all matters would be on the table.
“What I can say is that the issues of hideouts and terrorism has been raised multiple times and Pakistan will keep raising it. Pakistan wants to find a friendly solution to these problems,” he said.
