Islamabad (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi on Sunday emphasized the importance of Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway Line Project for regional connectivity.
Both ministers committed to closely collaborating for the swift finalization of the framework deal, according to a statement from the Foreign Office Spokesperson.
In their telephonic conversation, Muttaqi welcomed Pakistan’s decision to elevate diplomatic ties with Afghanistan to the ambassadorial level and confirmed that Kabul has decided to reciprocate this move. He termed it a very positive development in bilateral ties.

Both leaders also reviewed implementation of decisions taken during Dar’s trip to Kabul on April 19 and pledged to continue working jointly to establish mutual trust between the two countries.
In a separate engagement, Dar spoke with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
During a phone conversation, they agree to further strengthen bilateral collaboration in multilateral fora, especially at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), according to Foreign Office.
Both leaders agreed to maintain contact and also to meet on the margins of the high-level events slated to be held later this month at the UN, New York.
