Dar, Bahraini FM Vow to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

New York (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on Thursday on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Bahrain and pledged to expand cooperation across multiple areas. They highlighted the importance of stronger economic ties, improved regional connectivity, and closer coordination at multilateral platforms.

The ministers also discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire and urgent humanitarian assistance for the affected population.

The talks reflected a shared vision to deepen the longstanding partnership and work together on regional and global issues of mutual concern.

Over the years, Pakistan and Bahrain have maintained close cooperation rooted in shared history, cultural affinity, and people-to-people exchanges. The sizeable Pakistani community in Bahrain continues to play a vital role in the Kingdom’s development while acting as a bridge of goodwill between the two nations.

Both countries have also cooperated actively within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), supporting each other on issues of regional security and development. Their engagement has expanded into areas such as trade, investment, labor, and defense cooperation.

Looking ahead, Pakistan and Bahrain are expected to build further on this momentum by exploring new avenues of economic partnership, advancing joint initiatives for regional stability, and coordinating closely on pressing international challenges, including humanitarian crises and climate resilience.
