New York, 22 September 2021 (TDI): the Czech Republic Foreign Minister Jakub Khulhanek met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Both sides foresee strengthening their bilateral ties. Moreover, they discussed how to boost more investment and trade between the two countries.
Turkey recognized the Czech Republic on the same day of the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The Czech Republic and Turkey have had friendly relations since 1993.
Both countries have had good bilateral trade relations. The Czech Republic supported Turkey on its membership in the EU in 1999.

Jakub Kulhanek said that both countries are the ally of NATO and cooperate in the law enforcement and military areas. Jakub appreciated Turkey’s position in the Middle East.
