Islamabad (TD): Makhdoom Syed Sami-ul-Hassan Gillani, National Assembly Member and Convener of the Pakistan–Czech Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group, met with Czech Ambassador to Pakistan, Ladislav Steinhübel, at the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
The meeting focused on analyzing the current dynamics of Pakistan–Czech relations, while views were also exchanged on how cooperation can be expanded in agriculture, industry, trade, and investment.
Gillani said that parliamentary friendship groups can be used as effective tools for building economic and diplomatic bridges.

He further said that these forums are not just symbolic, but are functional tools in building cooperation and maintaining continuity in institutional dialogue.
While recounting outreach activities of the past, he mentioned the visit of the Czech Parliamentary delegation to Pakistan in 2019, led by Daniel Pawlas, Member of the Chamber of Deputies and Chairman of the Czech–Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group. He remembered the visit as a key milestone in building inter-parliamentary relations.
Ambassador Steinhübel welcomed the friendly relationship between the two countries and commended the existing parliamentary engagement.

He acknowledged the potential of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting mutual interests, and testified that collective action among legislatures enhances general bilateral development.
The ambassador also accepted the invitation by Convener Gillani to visit Pakistan’s National Assembly in September, calling it an opportunity of greater interaction with the Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Both sides expressed strong desire to strengthen relations through collective efforts at both parliamentary and diplomatic fronts.
