Havana, June 22, 2021 (TDI): BioCubaFarma announced that the homegrown Abdala Vaccine has shown 92 percent efficacy. Cuba is currently working on nearly five different vaccines and begin immunizing its population for clinical trials. This important announcement came after the government said that another vaccine Soberana 2 has also proved to have 62 percent effective against the deadly COVID-19. It is important to note that WHO has set a 50 percent efficacy threshold for the COVID-19 related vaccines produced by different countries around the world. Cuba is currently working on five different vaccines to fight the COVID-19 pandemic at home.
On this announcement, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel shared his jubilation over the important news.
