Lansing, 14 March 2023 (TDI): Pakistan Embassy in the United States (US) was pleased to announce that the Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Tariq Karim was invited as a keynote speaker at the 15th Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference Gala event held in Michigan.

To mention, the 15th Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference Gala event in Michigan was a significant gathering of mental health professionals and advocates from all over the United States.
The conference aimed to address critical issues affecting the mental health and well-being of Muslim individuals and communities.
Also, the event was an excellent opportunity for attendees to share their knowledge and expertise, learn from other distinguished speakers, and engage in productive discussions on how to address the challenges facing the Muslim community.
Consul General Tariq Karim’s keynote address was one of the highlights of the event. During his keynote address, he praised the efforts of Michigan State University (MSU) and Dr. Farha Abbasi for their exceptional work in the field of mental healthcare.
He emphasized the importance of strong Pak-US relations and proposed collaboration between MSU and academic institutions in Pakistan to further advance research and development in mental healthcare.
In addition, the Consul General had the opportunity to meet Rev. Dr. Que English, the Director of the Center for Faith-Based & Neighborhood Partnerships at the US Department of Health & Human Services.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen partnerships between faith-based organizations and mental health professionals to better serve communities in need.
