Chicago, 8 December 2021 (TDI): Last weekend the Consul General of Pakistan to Chicago Tariq Karim, attended a gathering organized by the Pakistani American Community in Chicago. Many other Senior officials of Chicago also attended the event.

Tariq Karim, in the gathering, interacted with the Pakistani American community there. While giving remarks the Consul General appreciated the Pakistani American community on their efforts in various fields. He explained how the Pakistani diaspora in Chicago is contributing to the socio-economic development of both the countries, Pakistan and the United States of America.

Recently we have seen the Pakistani American community members growing in the fields of entrepreneurship, Information Technology, and Volunteer work. We have notable examples of Farah Ali, a Pakistani American who is a co-founder of ‘Pakistani Women in Computing’. Through this organization, she is supporting the potential women in Pakistan to enter the field of Information Technology.

Moreover, we have examples of other valuable members of the Pakistani American community who are contributing to society and their home country. During thanksgiving, some members of the Pakistani American community held a food drive for the underprivileged and homeless.

Pakistan and USA

Both countries Pakistan and USA share a strong bilateral relationship. The public of both the countries is also contributing to further strengthening the relationship between the two states. Pakistan and USA have been collaborating in various fields such as health, business, and development.

Both the states are creating opportunities for their people to collaborate as well. Recently in November, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) collaborated on creating a report that provided opportunities for the small and large businesses in both countries to come together and invest in the market of electric vehicles.
