June 15, 2021 (TDI): The construction work on Pak-China Technical and Vocational Training Institute would be complete by December 2021 in the Port city of Gwadar. The total cost of the project is Rs.2 billion. The Technical and Vocational Training Institute is yet another project being built under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Gwadar port city.
The building of the institute would be comprised of two blocks including the administration block, one block divided into four workshops, a block for examination and teachers, a hostel, a café, and a parking lot.
The project will uplift and will give new opportunities for work for the people of Balochistan. It will further enhance skills and will be a source of employment for the local population and bring tourism to the port city.
The technical institute will help to produce skilled manpower for Gwadar Port. Gwadar is the crown of Belt and Road Initative. Such initiatives will help build the capacity of local people and include them in the larger vision of BRI.
