Rawalpindi, 9 June 2022 (TDI): Commander Qatar Emiri Air Force, Jassim Mohammed Ahmed al Mannai, called on Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
According to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, matters of mutual and professional interests, as well as the regional security situations, were discussed.

The Army Chief said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Qatar and Pakistan Army looks forward to enhancing security and defense cooperation with Qatar Armed Forces.
The visiting Qatari dignitary acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and vowed to enhance to cooperation in various fields, ISPR said.
The relationship between Qatar and Pakistan is generally shaped by Pakistan’s close relations with the Arab world, and a large number of the Pakistani community resides in Qatar numbering around 50,000.
Primarily due to visits by leadership on both sides, particularly in recent years, the relationship has expanded to include political, security, and economic dimension as well.
Last year in July, Pakistan’s Army Chief also paid a visit to Qatar in order to strengthen military relations between the two countries. Whilst there, the Army Chief met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and its Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
During his visit, the Qatari Leadership appreciated Pakistan’s efforts toward peace in the region and reiterated its commitment to further strengthen Pak-Qatar relations.
Moreover, last month, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkiye, General Hulusi Akar, called on General Bajwa and discussed issues of mutual interest.
The two discussed regional stability, as well as defense and security cooperation between both the countries, and overall regional security.
The Turkish dignitary also appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to regional security and connectivity and also reaffirmed Turkey’s full support of Pakistan’s stance on regional and international issues.
In that meeting, both Army Chief and Turkish Defence Minister reiterated the desire to further enhance bilateral relations including efforts to bring peace and stability to the region.
