RAWALPINDI, (TDI): General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, where he met with several key leaders including President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also met with Defence Minister Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Aziz Oghlu Bayramov, 1st Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff Colonel General Karim Tofig Oghlu Valiyev, and Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev.

The ISPR statement read that both sides acknowledged the deep-rooted and historic ties between their nations.
They explored issues of mutual interest, including the evolving security dynamics in the region and opportunities to enhance existing defense cooperation across various domains.
General Mirza emphasized the importance of strengthening military collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace and stability.

The Azerbaijani leadership expressed appreciation for the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces and highlighted a mutual interest in expanding cooperation to forge even deeper ties.
