International Conference on Civilizational Interconnections Kicks Off in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, (TDI): The International Conference titled ‘Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development’ commenced in the chair with the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Turkmenistan’s capital on Friday.

The high-level forum took place at the large conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosting several dignitaries, including Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Among the attendees were the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia), the Chairman of the UNESCO General Conference, and various heads of international organizations, government officials, renowned scientists, cultural figures, and diplomats.

This conference is part of a broader celebration of the 300th anniversary of the esteemed Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi, featuring numerous festive events both in Turkmenistan and abroad.

The primary objectives of the conference are to promote the classical heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, explore the connections between the languages and literatures of Eastern peoples, examine his role in the development of national statehood, and highlight the poet-humanist’s contributions to global spiritual values.
