Islamabad, 20 November 2023 (TDI): On November 12th-19th,2023, a Chinese delegation with 4 academia and 6 industries visited Lahore, Faisalabad, and Islamabad, Pakistan.
During the visiting period, one training forum and one workshop on “China-Pakistan Major Livestock Disease Control” were held in Lahore and Faisalabad, respectively, which were funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, China and Ministry of Science and Technology, China.
The training forum and workshop were jointly organized by China Agricultural University, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Department of Livestock and Dairy Development Lahore, and Royal Cell Biotech (Pakistan) Pvt. Co. Ltd.
Three giant veterinary enterprises came from Yangling Jinhai Bio-Tech Co., Ltd, Inner Mongolia Bigvet Bio-Tech Co., Ltd, and Qingdao Zhongren Health Industry Group and one cutting-edge diagnostic company was Lanzhou Shouyan Biotech Co., Ltd, affiliated with Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
The Pakistani attendees included local officials from governmental sectors, veterinary technicians, and institute researchers. A total of 150 participants were trained in the two meetings. The open positions for PhD students and postdoctoral candidates were interviewed during the training sessions.
To satisfy the establishment of a non-epidemic free zone in Pakistan and water buffalo’s embryo.
Exporting to the Chinese market, the Project leader, Prof.Dr. He Cheng at China Agricultural University presented the opening ceremony of the joint lab for livestock disease control with Royal Cell Biotech Pvt Limited, Lahore.
During Asia Dairy Cow Expo Lahore on November 15-16th,2023, two FMD vaccine manufacturers were surrounded by Pakistani collaborators Chinese partners were invited to visit local vaccine facilities and the proposals of the joint venture were under negotiation for future investment.
Chinese delegation not only discussed opportunities for cooperation among academic, research institutions, and industries in China and Pakistan but also exchanged experience in preventing and controlling major livestock diseases in China, as well as the construction of FMD Free Zone and diagnosis laboratories.
Zhao Shiren, the Consul General of the Chinese Consulate in Lahore expressed full support and promotion of practical cooperation between Chinese and Pakistani enterprises and research institutions in relevant fields.
Punjab Agricultural Research Board Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abid Mahmood and Secretary Masood Anwar at the Livestock and Dairy Department of Punjab were invited to deliver speeches for the participants. They hoped that research institutions and industry-leading companies could collaborate to promote the prevention and control of major livestock diseases through the exchange of this seminar and meet the quarantine technical standards of the Chinese Customs.
