Beijing, 23 June 2022 (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the BRICS Business Forum.
The speech was titled “Keep Abreast of the Trend of the Times to Shape a Bright Future”
The President noted that the world is passing through times of difficulties. He highlighted the global changes and issues that are occurring in contemporary times.
He also showed his concerns over the Post-Covid economic crises and rising global security challenges.

The way out of the crises
President Xi in his speech mentioned how the world can recover itself from the ongoing crises.
The world can maintain its stability and peace by embracing coordination and solidarity. The world must consider itself as a global community and states should work together to achieve the common goals of peace.
He insisted that after the huge economic losses due to the Covid-19, the world should now work together to promote sustainable global development.
Moreover, he proclaimed that countries should implement Agenda 2030. They must collaborate in areas like reducing poverty, improving health facilities, education, industrialization, and digital connectivity.
Furthermore, Chinese President Xi suggested that the countries should engage in a win-win corporation. The developed economies should build a structure that can also equally benefits the poor nations.
In addition, he criticized the use of economic tools as a political weapon. He said that using the major positions in the international monetary and financial system will only end up damaging one’s own interests.
President Xi Jinping repeatedly highlighted the importance of global integration. He insisted to uphold and promote the WTO-centered multilateral trading system.
Likewise, the barriers and hurdles to trade, technology, and investment must be removed. The global economy must be kept open so everyone can have equal opportunity.
China is currently hosting the 14th BRICS Summit this year.
